My Man has been collecting jars for a while now. He finds most of them when he is surveying at old homesteads. He looks for where they put their trash and finds all kinds of treasures. How’s how I decorate, I mean display them.

By the way, he built the shelves they are on. Some of these bottles are worth something. I think one is worth about $38. To me, that’s a lot for a bottle.

He also found these Milk of Magnesia bottles. I put them over the sliding door to the deck. That room is blue and white and they look nice in there.

He also found some blue canning jars. A couple still had their lids. They are everywhere…over the sliding door, on the kitchen counter tops. Some are empty, some have dried beans in them. I wonder if they are still any good. How long can you keep dried beans and peas and they still be good? hummm

Kathy wants to incorporate these into her wedding. We are country girls at heart. I’ll take the beans out and put flowers in, of course!

These smaller jars sit on the window sill in the kitchen. I love the way they catch the  light in the morning.

The hardest part about having a collection like this is how dusty they get. I hate to dust. I rarely dust, especially these. The easiest way is to take them all down and put them in the dishwasher. I so this about once a year. I know. but I’m lazy at heart.

Use what you collect to decorate. Be careful how much you collect if you don’t like to dust. I have put these bottles all over the place. That’s the good thing about them. They are mobile.
